Summary and Objective

The students will understand that photographs illustrate similarities and differences over time.

Teaching Plan

Step 1. The students will view the online photograph collection and discuss what each photograph depicts with the guidance of the teacher. During the discussion, they will record the variety of photographs, i.e. what each photograph depicted.

Step 2. The students will use their chart to decide who will try to capture the same scene in the present day.

Step 3. The students can use cameras to take their own photographs or draw a picture that captures the scene they have been given.

Step 4. When completed, the photographs or drawings will be displayed next to the original photograph scene.

Step 5. The students will each talk about the similarities or differences between the original and their own photograph/ drawing to the class.
