Made about 1840 by Dexter Marsh of Greenfield, Massachusetts, this painted and decorated small (37.5" long) baby cradle has a patriotic theme. The word "Independence" (written backwards) and a picture of an eagle decorate the sides. Banding decorates the edges of the frame and the rocker.
