John Wilson was a prominent agriculturist and the inventor and manufacturer of agricultural implements, one of which is the plough pictured here. In addition Wilson built, in 1816, a printing office and publishing office in Deerfield, Massachusetts, which he operated with his brother-in-law, Rodolphus Dickinson (1786-1862) for four years until 1820.
