The colonial kitchen at Memorial Hall shows a view of early home life seen through the eyes of 19th century historians. Organized beginning in 1880 around a huge fireplace in a big room is a clutter of what grew to more than 800 things about home life. The room is a very early, perhaps the first American try at showing a museum room as a room in a house from an earlier time.
