The resignation of Dr. William Stoddard Williams (1768-1829) of Deerfield, Massachusetts, at age 50, from His job as doctor in the militia of the state was accepted and Dr. Williams was declared, "discharged." Dr. Williams, son, father, and grandfather of doctors, studied medicine with Dr. Erastus Sargeant of Stockbridge, Massachusetts, and he practiced medicine from his home in Deerfield until his death in 1829.
