Lucia (Fairchild) Fuller (1870-1924) was only 23 years old when she was asked to be one of 4 artists to paint a mural for the Woman's Building at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Like many shows at the fair, Fuller's "Women of Plymouth" has a Colonial Revival theme. It shows some of the earliest "American" women doing daily tasks simply and with grace. Colonial things would become very popular for quite a while.
