Travelers to towns and cities like Greenfield, Massachusetts, could purchase and send postcards that highlighted famous landmarks or homes like this one of the "Honorable Dana Malone Residence." The Malone house exhibited the grander features associated with Victorian architecture of the late 19th century. Note, for example, the multilevel rooflines and the belvedere tower on the side of the house. A traveler to Greenfield sent this postcard to Cummington, Massachusetts, and wrote, "to let you know that I am still alive" adding that everything was "Ok...except the city. I don't like that."
