Travelers to towns and cities like Greenfield, Massachusetts, could buy and send postcards that showed famous landmarks or homes like this one of the "Honorable Dana Malone Residence." The Malone house showed the grander side of architecture of the late 19th century. Note, for example, the different levels of rooflines and the tower on the side of the house. A traveler to Greenfield sent this postcard to Cummington, Massachusetts, and wrote, "to let you know that I am still alive" adding that everything was "Ok...except the city. I don't like that."
